HP Spectre: The World's Sexiest Notebook

I'm grateful to witness HP Inc. and Harvey Nichols Riyadh collaboration on the first and exclusive Middle East debut of HP’s latest, sexiest, sophisticated Spectre 13.3 notebook last June 23, 2016, in Riyadh. It is currently “The World’s Thinnest Full-Power Laptop”, weighing only 2.45 lbs and 0.41 inches thick (it overshadowed Apple’s Macbook 12!). The event was held at the phenomenal The Globe with a spectacular view of the capital city of Saudi Arabia, in Al Faisaliah Tower.

“It is the only best place to launch such a noteworthy powerful machine that is currently the world’s best”, shared by Mr. Jason McMillan, Managing Director for HP Saudi Arabia.

Ms. Fatima Ibrahim, Harvey Nichols Riyadh Store General Manager added, “We, at Harvey Nichols Riyadh, pride ourselves in delivering high-quality products to our premium customers; and HP Spectre is no exception.”

The world-renowned luxury store’s visual and marketing team showcased their finest, rich and elegant black & gold ensembles, foot wear, and accessories that synced with the event’s theme of power and opulence.

The entire lounge was eloquently dazzling in smoke gray and gold, with matching mocktails of the same motif. The company's latest slogan, “Reinvent Obsession”, stirs pride within guests in the room to be one with the product that definitely stands out like no other.

I was able to hold and play with the laptop for a few minutes; and I noted its durable aluminum and carbon fiber design with its confidently thin frame. I'm impressed with the bright, hand-polished gold hinge, and it's hands-down that HP team totally redefined perfection with this device. How can something that looks delicate be so strong?!, I thought to myself.

Pros

  • The HP Spectre is offering two options of either Intel’s sixth-gen Core i5 and Core i7 processors, with 256gb of PCIe SSD storage and 8GB RAM. Their most high-end Core i7 edition comes with 512gb of PCIe SSD storage and 8GB RAM.

  • Its slim keys has an excellent depth and gave no hassle when typing no matter what size your hands are (My hands were simply gliding as I typed!).

  • Its battery life is capable of 9.5 hours of continuous office tasks or multimedia playback.

  • An absolute head-turner with its luxurious & fashionable build.

Cons

  • It has three limited USB-C ports in its back for power/extra data storage, and 2 thunderbolt ports for high-speed data transfer. If you don’t mind carrying extra accessories, then this isn’t much of a concern.

  • It lacks a touchscreen display compared to other premium Windows laptop. But personally, I don’t like fingerprint marks on my screen; hence, it’s not a big deal.

Overall, if you like a svelte, contemporary, prime system, then HP Spectre 13.3 is one of the well-defined dominant laptops to date. It is also highly recommended for those who are working in a modern and fast-paced setting like me, to support the kind of lifestyle where class, high-performance, and prolonged battery life is essential.
