Relax. It's All Settled Now.

Allow me to share a story with you. It’s my hobby at work that I scan mails/memos as soon as I get to the office, before I run to the powder room and fix myself. One time, I found a memo addressed to my boss with an apparent complain about me. Let me give a brief history. I do my best to follow rules/guidelines wherever I go. Why? It’s not because I’m afraid of it, but because I know it’s there to protect me. Policies and procedures are created to protect the company and its employees and helps in the development of both.

Now here’s the scenario: The person filing the complain has been requesting an exemption from his managers for weeks, and somehow, he classified me as the bad guy because I was the one who has been acting as a bearer of non-affirmative news between the upper management, and to him. He forgot that all my actions are guided in accordance with the instructions of the executives. Fast-forward to the current situation, of course, I got concerned with the letter. I know my boss is going to ask about it as soon as he comes, so I prepared myself for it. How? I made a timeline of incidents and printed important communications related to the issue. I felt like a lawyer preparing to defend my client, which is the company policy. So I waited, prayed, and drank 2 cups of espresso in 2 hours.

When my boss came, he did ask about it; and then I said I would come by his office to share its history. As soon as I entered his room, he saw the documents in my arms and he said gently, “You have nothing to be anxious about. It’s all settled now.” I was like, what?! I felt the heaviness in my heart has been lifted, and I released a sigh of relief. We both smiled at each other as if I wasn't distressed few hours ago, and we went forward discussing other matters.

I believe our Father in heaven is the same. Oftentimes, we worry too much and rely on our own knowledge to solve our burdens, and we forget the ultimate Boss Almighty who knows about everything. He has solved all our problems for us before we even ask to be saved. :-)

However, there are times when His solutions to our dilemmas come in a way that is not what we have wanted, and sometimes we think that He is punishing us. No matter how painfully difficult it may seem, trust that when He takes away something, it’s because He is about to bless us with so much more. You just need to believe that in your good heart. If you got laid off from your job, your business partner cheated on you, your spouse/partner left you, a friend stole from you, a relative turned against you, you know what? Let them go… because that emptiness will be filled with a greater blessing more than the pain you have endured losing them.

It’s all settled. Smile and thank God that He keeps protecting you from further agony in the future.

May your journey be blessed.

Xoxo.
